Ji Won collapsed onto the ground, her body limp, her face pale. For a moment, Kim Min Kyu froze. His heart clenched as if someone had stabbed him. Then came the rage-raw and uncontrollable. He whipped out his gun, ready to fire, but the culprit had already vanished into the night.
"Ji Won..." His voice cracked.
He rushed to her side, scooping her into his trembling arms. "I can't wait for an ambulance," he muttered, panic shaking through him. He carried her to his car, his steps unsteady, his bloodied hands pressing against her wound.
As he placed her gently in the passenger seat, desperation spilled out of him.
"Ji Won, open your eyes! Please... don't ignore me like this. Not you."
He drove like a madman, with a roar of the engine ignoring red lights, horns, and the chaos of traffic. His only thought
get her to the hospital-alive.
By the time he reached the hospital, his hands and clothes were drenched in her blood. "Help! Someone, please help her!" he shouted.
Doctors rushed forward, wheeling Ji Won away. One paused only to reassure him:
"We'll do our best. Please, stay calm."
But calm was impossible. His hands trembled. His chest felt as though a knife had lodged itself there. The sight of her being taken away hollowed him out.
He called his bodyguard.
"Find him," he ordered, his voice raw with fury. "I don't care how you bring him to me. I'll kill him myself."
But once the call ended, the rage gave way to sobs he couldn't contain.
He then dialed Chawoon.
His phone buzzed. Chawoon's voice came through, light and casual. "Hey bro, what's up? Did you find any cameras?"
Min Kyu couldn't speak. Only sobs came through.
Chawoon froze, startled he had never once seen his brother cry. "What's wrong? Are you okay? Is Mom okay?"
"Just come... to the hospital," Min Kyu whispered. "Please."
By the time Chawoon arrived, he found his brother with bloodstained hands, his eyes swollen red.
"What happened? Are you hurt?" Chawoon asked, panic rising.
Min Kyu collapsed into his arms, clinging to him like a child. "Ji Won... Ji Won!" He pointed toward the operation theatre.
"She... what happened to her?" chawoon asked with trembling voice
"They shot her," Min Kyu choked out. "Someone tried to kill her."
Chawoon staggered back, his own eyes filling with tears. "No. Why would anyone-"
"I'll find him," Min Kyu's voice turned sharp again. "And when I do, I'll give him a ticket to hell."
"No." Chawoon grabbed his shoulders firmly. "Don't. If you go down that road, you'll be the one in prison. Let the police take him. Please."
Min Kyu's jaw clenched, but after a long silence, he nodded. "Stay here. Take care of her. Call her mother. I'll go to the police station."
He slid on his sunglasses, hiding the storm in his eyes, and walked out.
In the Waiting Room
Chawoon dialed Ji Won's mother with trembling hands, explained everything, then called his own mom. His mother wanted to rush over, but he begged her to stay home and pray.
When the calls ended, he sank into a chair and stared at the theatre doors. His tears fell silently as memories of Ji Won played in his head her laughter, her stubbornness, the bond they had built.
"Please, Ji Won... don't leave us."
At the Hostel - Fajr
The morning call to prayer echoed softly. Ameena remained on her mat, whispering, "Ya Allah... today is the last day. Save her from what she hasn't done."
Beside her, Ayesha finished her dua, then sat quietly, her heart heavy. But thoughts of Chawoon slipped in uninvited. How he fought for her. How he stood beside her. A warmth spread across her cheeks.
Ameena caught it immediately. "Hmm... why are you blushing?"
"What? Me? No way!" Ayesha scrambled.
"Accha... now you're hiding something from me?" Ameena teased.
"There's nothing to hide!" Ayesha groaned, tossing a pillow at her.
Laughing, Ameena shot back, "Fine, don't tell me. But was it Ji Won you were thinking of? Or... Ji... Ju?"
"Ameena!" Ayesha gasped, face crimson as she threw another pillow. Their laughter filled the room, a brief escape from the storm waiting outside.
Meanwhile - By the Sea
At dawn , Min Kyu stood alone on the beach. The waves crashed, but he only heard his own heart pounding. In his hand, the wallet with Ji Won's photo trembled.
"I won't let you die," he whispered. "I should have told you sooner... that I love you. Now, I regret every moment I stayed silent."
At 7:00 Am
his phone rang.
"We've found him," his man reported.
Within minutes, Min Kyu stormed into an abandoned building where the attacker was bound. His fists struck hard, one after another.
"Why did you shoot her?!" he roared.
The man, broken and bleeding, finally cried, "Stop! I wasn't aiming for her-I was aiming for you! B&B paid me to kill you!"
Min Kyu froze for a second then His rage burned hotter, He raised a lethal fist, but stopped because Chawoons words echoed in his mind. Slowly, he lowered his hand.
"Call a doctor," he ordered coldly. "And make sure he doesn't die or escape."
Just then, his phone buzzed. Kim min glanced down and saw a call coming in. It was from chawoon
"Hyung, I need you at the hospital. I have to leave,β Chawoonβs urgent voice rang through the line
βLeave? Where?β Kim Min asked,
Time skip
At the College
The atmosphere in the college was heavy, every corner buzzing with hushed whispers.
"Do you think Chawoon will prove anything?" one student murmured.
"I doubt it," Hyejin replied coldly. "I'm sure Ayesha is behind all this."
A smirk followed. "Finally... she'll go back to where she belongs."
At hostel
Ameena tried calling Chawoon again and again, but he never picked up. Ji Won's phone remained silent too. The more the calls went unanswered, the more it felt like betrayal as if both of them had turned their backs when they needed them most.
Ayesha said under her breath
"Hasbiyallahu la ilaha illa Huwa, 'alayhi tawakkaltu, wa Huwa Rabbul-'Arshil-'Azim."
Meaning: "Allah is sufficient for me; there is no deity except Him. On Him I rely, and He is the Lord of the Mighty Throne."
Ameena noticed ayesha silence her voice faltered as she apologized. "I'm sorry, Ayesha. I couldn't do anything for you."
Ayesha smiled faintly, though her eyes were dim. "It's okay. Maybe this is my destiny."
Meanwhile, in the principal's office, the decision had already been sealed.
"Ayesha is guilty," the principal declared coldly. "Prepare the paperwork and call her here."
When Ayesha's phone rang, her heart sank. With Ameena by her side, she walked toward the college, each step heavier than the last.
Her thoughts echoed in silence....
"Why didn't Chawoon come? Why didn't he keep his promise?"
