Chapter 8

The hallway was chaos. Students were yelling, pushing, and running, desperate to get out. The panic spread like wildfire, and everyone just wanted to save themselves.

Chawoon and Ji-won joined the crowd, running out of their classroom. But as Chawoon glanced back, he froze.

Ayesha was still inside. She stood near her desk, pale and unmoving, as if she couldn’t hear the noise around her.

Chawoon’s heart sank. He couldn’t leave her like that. Without thinking, he turned around and ran back inside.

“Chawoon, don’t go!” Ji-won shouted, trying to grab his hand. But the crowd shoved her aside, and she lost her grip.

Chawoon pushed his way through the rushing students until he reached Ayesha. He grabbed her wrist tightly.

“Ayesha, come with me!” he said. She didn’t resist as he pulled her out of the classroom.

Outside, the chaos continued. Students flooded out of the building. A professor, alarmed by the panic, managed to stop one of them.

“What’s going on? Why is everyone running?” he asked.

The student stuttered, his voice shaky. “B-b-bo*b!” Then, without another word, he ran off.

Chawoon stopped near the college entrance , still holding Ayesha’s wrist. He turned to her, his voice filled with worry.

“Ayesha, are you okay? Why were you just standing there?”

But Ayesha didn’t reply. She looked lost, her eyes unfocused.

Before Chawoon could say anything else, Ji-won and another girl stormed toward them.

“What’s wrong with you?!” Ji-won shouted at Ayesha. “Are you trying to kill us all?!”

The other girl didn’t wait for a response. She shoved Ayesha hard, and Ayesha fell to the ground. Tears filled her eyes as she sat there, trembling, unable to look up.

“Stop it!” Chawoon yelled, stepping in front of Ayesha to shield her. “What’s wrong with you two? Leave her alone!”

“She almost killed us!” the other girl yelled back.

Chawoon glared at her. “If you touch her again, I won’t respect you anymore,” he said, his voice was firm but threatened way

The girl hesitated, then muttered under her breath and walked away.

Ji-won stayed, glaring at Chawoon. “What’s wrong with you, Chawoon? She’s a terr**ist! And you’re defending her? Just come here. I don’t want you involved with someone like her.”

Chawoon’s expression didn’t change. His voice was calm but cold. “You think she did this? Look at her!” He pointed to Ayesha, still sitting on the ground with tears in her eyes.

Chawoon exhaled softly. “You know me, Ji-won. You should trust me.”

As soon as he said he turned toward Ayesha, lowered himself to sit right in front of her, his voice gentle.
“Ayesha… you don’t have to cry you haven't done this, okay? And—”

Ayesha lifted her gaze. Her eyes were trembling, full of tears, her thoughts spinning so loudly she couldn’t breathe properly.

“Im…” Chawoon continued, reaching a hand toward her

But before the words could form, Ji-won suddenly grabbed his wrist and pulled him back to face her.

“No.”
She folded her arms, her expression hard.
“You should trust me instead...
She is a ter***s!”

“I don’t care what you think,” Chawoon said loudly. “I trust her. She didn’t do this.”

In the crowd, Min-joon stood back, smirking as he watched the argument like it was his entertainment.

Ji-won’s yelled. “Are you crazy? I saw it with my own eyes! She had a bo*b in her hand!”

Chawoon cut her off. “Not everything you see is true,” he said quietly. “I can see it in her eyes she’s innocent.”

Ayesha stood up and looked up at Chawoon. She stared at him in shock, unable to believe what she was hearing. He was defending her, standing up against  everyone for her even his best friend Ji won

She couldn’t speak, but one thought filled her mind: "Not all boys are the same"!

In the classroom

The classroom was tense when the professor entered. His eyes immediately landed on the bo*b lying on a desk. However, his two years of military training in Korea kicked in, and he quickly realized it wasn’t real..it was a fake bo*b.

Without hesitation, he picked it up and headed straight to the principal’s office.

Meanwhile, in another part of the campus, Chawoon stood firm amidst the chaos. He ignored everyone around him and looked straight at Ayesha.

“Ayesha,” he said softly, “let’s go.”

Taking her hand, he led her to his car. As they drove away, he glanced at her and smiled. “Don’t worry, Ayesha. I’m with you.”

From behind, Ji Won’s voice rang out, shouting after them. “Chawoon! Chawoon!” She desperately tried to stop him, but it was too late.

Just then, the professor returned to the scene, holding the fake bo*b in his hand. He addressed the crowd of students gathered there.

“There’s no need to panic. The bo*b isn’t real. It’s fake.”

A murmur of disbelief rippled through the students.

“What?” echoed across the group as they exchanged confused looks.

“Hmm,” the professor said, scanning the crowd. “Who saw this bo*b first?”

“I did!” the girl stepped forward. “I saw it in Ayesha’s hand.”

“And where is she now?” the professor asked.

“She’s gone,” Ji Won replied hesitantly.

“Gone?” professor questioned

“Chawoon took her with him. We don’t know where they went,” Ji Won replied.

The professor frowned. “Call Chawoon,” he ordered.

Ji Won quickly nodded and pulled out her phone.

And the professor looked around at the students gathered there, his expression stern.

“And No one will speak about this outside the college. Do you all understand?”

Everyone fell silent.

“Whoever did this..… whoever created this chaos… they will be punished strictly.”His tone was final

In the car,

Chawoon’s phone buzzed. He glanced at the screen...it was Ji Won. With a sigh, he declined the call, unwilling to talk to her right now. Instead, he focused on Ayesha, who sat quietly beside him, her face streaked with tears.

He drove the car to a quiet restaurant and parked. “Let’s go inside,” he said gently.

Inside the restaurant

Chawoon watched as Ayesha sat silently, her tears still flowing. His heart ached for her. He wanted to hold her, to comfort her, but he held back.

“Ayesha,” he said softly, “please don’t cry. I know you’re innocent. Tell me everything that happened, in detail.”

She took a shaky breath and began. “I don’t know how the bo*b got into my bag. After I talked to you earlier, I checked my bag and suddenly i saw  something when I took it out  it was a bo*b.” Her voice broke, and she started crying again. "What will happen now ?!"

Chawoon clenched his fists under the table, struggling to stay calm. In his mind, he thought, "I want to hug you. I want to wipe your tears. But I can’t."

Instead, he forced a reassuring smile. “Nothing will happen trust me!. No one can hurt you while I’m here,” he said, his dimples appearing as he smiled at her.

Ayesha looked at him with teary eyes, her emotions conflicted.

“Tell me,” Chawoon asked softly, “do you want to eat something?”

She shook her head. “No. I just want to leave. Please take me back to the hostel.”

Chawoon nodded. “Okay. But you have to wipe your tears first. Otherwise, I won’t take you.”

Ayesha hesitated but wiped her tears.

“Hmm, good,” Chawoon said with approval, his smile softening.

They got back into the car and drove  toward the hostel.

At hostel

Ameena opened the door, her face lighting up as she saw Ayesha standing there. But before she could say a word, Ayesha threw her arms around her, holding her tightly.

Ameena was startled. “What happened, Ayesha?” she asked, her voice full of concern.

But Ayesha didn’t answer. She just held on, trembling.

Moments later, Chawoon walked in. Ameena looked at him, raising her eyebrows in question, silently asking for an explanation. Chawoon sighed and began explaining everything that had happened. By the time he finished, Ameena’s face was pale with shock.

“Don’t cry, Ayesha,” Ameena said softly, wrapping her arms around her friend in a comforting hug. “I promise, I won’t leave the person who did this to you. Whoever it is they won’t get away with it.”

Just then, the door swung open wider, and Ji Won entered with the professor. They had been searching for Ayesha, and now their search had brought them here.

Ayesha looked up, startled, as the professor stepped forward. His stern expression made everyone uneasy.

“Ayesha,” he said firmly, “you have to come with us.”

Chawoon immediately stood in front of her. “But why, sir? She’s innocent!”

The professor’s expression didn’t change. “Stay out of this, Chawoon.”

“Yes, Chawoon,” Ji Won added coldly, “this is only better for you .”

Before things could escalate, Ameena stepped forward. “Sir, I’ll come with her,” she said, her voice calm but determined.

The professor hesitated but nodded. “Fine. Let’s go.”

Chawoon moved to follow them, but Ji Won grabbed his hand, stopping him. “Listen, Chawoon,” she said, her voice trembling.

He turned to her, surprised. “What is it?”

“I don’t understand why you trust her so much,” Ji Won said, her eyes brimming with tears. “But I can’t trust people so easily...   Please don’t ignore me!” she looked at him

Chawoon’s expression softened, but there was a hint of frustration in his voice. “Ji Won, I understand that trust isn’t easy. But why won’t you listen to me? you didn't trust me .....why ?”

Her face fell, guilt and disappointment crossing her features.

“I’m not angry with you,” he continued, his voice gentler now. “But don’t speak badly about Ayesha. I can’t stand it.”

He took a deep breath. “You’re a good person, Ji Won. I don’t want you to go down the wrong path. I hope you understand what I mean.”

Ji Won stared at him, conflicted, before finally nodding. “hmmm...The bo*b was fake,” she said softly.

Chawoon froze, his eyes widening. “What?”

“Yes,” Ji Won repeated. “Maybe she’s not a terr**ist .”

Hearing that, Chawoon didn’t wait another second. Without a word, he turned and ran toward his car, leaving Ji Won standing there alone.

Ji Won watched him go, a tear slipping down her cheek. She never thought he could care so much about another girl that he would leave her behind.

At JNM

The door to Kim Min Kyu’s office swung open.

Yuseok stepped inside, his face drawn with worry. “Sir,” he began, “our rival B&B Mr. john's company has released the same product again… The one we’ve been working on.”

Kim Min Kyu shot up from his chair, his hand slamming down on the table with a sharp crack.
“What?!” he thundered. “How the heck does this keep happening?”

His eyes burned with frustration as he turned to face Yuseok. “There’s a traitor in our company. Someone is leaking our plans. And you...” he pointed firmly, “you have to find them  Fast","If this keeps going, we’ll be finished. I’ll be on the damn street.”

Yuseok straightened, nodding with urgency. “Yes, sir. I’ll handle it. I’ll find out who’s behind this for the company.”

Kim Min Kyu’s jaw tightened, but he gave a sharp nod “Yes. I believe you !

At principals office

The atmosphere in the principal’s office was tense. Ayesha stood with trembling hands, The principal eyed her sternly, while Ameena, her best friend, stood close to ayesha

“So, Ayesha,” the principal began, her voice sharp, “why do you have a fake bo*b in your hand?”

“What fake bo*b?” Ayesha and Ameena exclaimed together, exchanging bewildered glances.

“You mean to tell me you don’t know it’s fake?” the principal pressed.

“No, ma’am! It’s not mine! I don’t know who put it in my bag,” Ayesha stammered, her voice desperate.

The principal sighed. “Alright, let’s assume you’re telling the truth. But then, who could have done this?”

“Maybe....someone played a prank,” Ameena suggested hesitantly.

“Hmm, perhaps. But as far as I know, my students wouldn’t pull such a dangerous prank,” the principal replied. Her tone grew firmer. “However, whoever did this will be suspended from college. And right now, all the evidence points to you, Ayesha.”

“Why me, ma’am?” Ayesha asked, her eyes brimming with tears.

“Because the witness saw you. And you didn’t run when it was discovered. That suggests you knew it wasn’t real, didn’t you?”

“No, ma’am! I was in shock. I wasn’t in my senses!” Ayesha pleaded, her voice cracking. “Please trust me. I didn’t do this!”

At that moment, Chawoon, a student known for his confident demeanor, appeared at the office door. The security guard barred his way, but he declared, “My brother is a trustee of this college and a good friend of principal ,” forcing the guard to relent.

He entered the room, slightly out of breath. “Ma’am, Ayesha hasn’t done this. I know her!”

The principal raised an eyebrow. “Oh, Chawoon, why are you here?”

“Because I believe she’s innocent,” he said, still catching his breath.

“If she’s innocent, then why did she run from the college?” the principal questioned.

“I was the one who took her away,” Chawoon admitted.

The principal narrowed her eyes. “Is she your friend?”

Chawoon hesitated and looked at Ayesha. “No,” he replied

“Then is she your girlfriend?” the principal asked with up eyebrows, but before she could finish her sentence, Ayesha interjected loudly, “No..! Ma’am !”

Chawoon shook his head. “She’s just my classmate. I may not know her very well, but I know enough to trust her .”

The principal crossed her arms and leaned back in her chair. “Fine. Here’s the deal. If you can prove her innocence within three days, she can rejoin the college. If not, she will be sent back to India.”

Ayesha gasped. “Back to India? But my dreams ...i....”

The principal cut her off. “That’s final. Until then, Ayesha, you are confined to the hostel. You are not allowed to leave, and  Also, we’ll need to search your room.”

Ameena spoke up, her voice firm. Okay!, ma’am, You can search it.”

The principal dismissed them with a wave. “You may all go now.”

Outside the office, Ayesha’s shoulders slumped in despair. “I don’t know how he’ll prove my innocence. If he fails, I’ll be sent back to India, and my dreams will be over.”

Ameena placed a comforting hand on her shoulder. “Trust him. I’ll help him too. Don’t worry, Ayesha. We’ll figure this out.”

Ayesha wiped her tears. “Why does it happen to me?”

Ameena tilted her head. “Ayesha, I can’t believe you’re saying this. Don’t you remember what you told me once? Allah tests those He loves.”

Ayesha’s eyes lit up slightly. “Yes, that’s true. It’s an honor for me, then.” She hugged Ameena tightly, feeling a glimmer of hope.

Chawoon had been listening nearby. He was struck by Ayesha’s unwavering faith.

Before leaving, he approached her. “Ayesha, take care of yourself. Don’t cry anymore. I’ll prove your innocence, no matter what.”

Ayesha managed a small smile. “Thank you, Chawoon. I don’t have the words to express my gratitude.”

He smiled back. “It’s my pleasure.”
